Comprehensive Nursing Care
The staff of healthcare professionals at The Heritage work together in a team approach with the residents' physicians, families, therapists and other specialists to ensure quality care for every resident. Quality of life for residents is the number one priority of each staff member. This dedicated team works to meet the special needs of each resident with care, understanding and respect.
During the initial evaluation, the team works together to determine the needs and individual level of care required by each resident. The total plan of care is overseen by the resident's physician, who monitors progress.
The Health Center services, include:
- A licensed nursing staff, supervised by an RN Director of Health Services, on call around-the-clock.
- Meals served in an attractive dining room. Careful attention to pleasant dining enhances the residents' quality of life.
- Proper nutrition is supervised by a Registered Dietitian and special or therapeutic diets are available as needed.
- Personalized therapy programs implemented by certified therapists. Physical, speech, occupational and other restorative and rehabilitative services are provided as needed.
- Additional intensive restorative rehabilitation services are offered, for an additional fee, in cases such as stroke or fractures. These services are specifically designed to restore self esteem, dignity and a higher level of functional independence for both short and long-term residents.
- Activities, programs and religious services designed to help meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of residents, coordinated by a full-time Director. Scheduled transportation is provided at no charge.
- A full-service beauty/barber shop. Charges are added to the resident's monthly statement.
- Regular meetings of the Resident Council, family support groups and an on-going review of services by the administrative staff, to preserve our commitment to those we serve.
- The Health Center participates in on-site training with local schools and physicians. A volunteer auxiliary, from children to other senior adults, offers special assistance with social functions, visitation, religious services and letter writing. Daily visiting hours are 8 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Additional features, include
- Residents are offered nursing care and personalized services designed to suit their needs.
- Residents are seated for meals based on personal compatibility and the degree of care needed.
- If choosing a semi-private room, every effort is made to pair residents with similar interests and needs.
- Private and semi-private rooms feature:
- Window adjacent to each bed, private bathing.
- Individually controlled thermostats in each room.
- Custom made wardrobe.
- Telephone connections.
- A television is provided for your convenience.
- A beautiful garden and a peaceful courtyard bring outdoor enjoyment to The Health Center's residents.
- Call systems are constantly monitored from a central station, and the entire Health Center is protected by a sprinkler system and smoke detectors.
